Sonoma Breweries Offer Support to North Bay Fire Victims
A band of brewery brothers and sisters are offering a helping hand, a meal and a pint to those affected by the fires.
Russian River Brewing Company (RRBC) in Santa Rosa has launched a Sonoma Pride fundraising campaign in partnership with cyclist Levi Leipheimer's King Ridge Foundation. The brewery will release a Sonoma Pride beer on October 31 and raffle out 14 chances to cut the line during the 2018 Pliny the Younger release - all proceeds will benefit victims of the fires. Third Street Aleworks in Santa Rosa has opened their hearts and doors to locals affected by the fires. Whether you're an evacuee, first responder, or lack the funds to pay for your meal, you will be fed here. $1 per pint sold will be donated to those affected by the fires. Bear Republic Brewing Company is donating $.50 per case sold for the next 30 days to victims of the fires, and they have asked their wholesalers to match this donation. Both brewery locations are offering free meals to first responders, and the brewery was the first to team up with Russian River Brewing Company to produce Sonoma Pride beer. Beercraft in Novato and Rohnert Park is also raising money to support fire victims. So far, Cellarmaker from San Francisco has donated four half barrel kegs to the taprooms, with all proceeds benefiting fire victims (the beer sold out in two days). St. Florian’s Brewery in Windsor has a history of supporting local fire departments (owner Aaron Levin is a firefighter).
